چکیده

The methods of the published manuscript [1] state that an incorrect concentration of Feridex was used (25 ug/ml). Instead, the methods should state that a concentration of 50 ug/ml Feridex was used. Optimized labeling of bone marrow mesenchymal cells with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and in vivo visualization by magnetic resonance imaging

BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising addition to traditional treatments for a number of diseases. However, harnessing the therapeutic potential of stem cells requires an understanding of their fate in vivo. Non-invasive cell tracking can provide knowledge about mechanisms responsible for functional improvement of host tissue. Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs...

In vivo Tracking of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Labeled with a Novel Chitosan-coated Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles using 3.0T MRI

This study aimed to characterize and MRI track the mesenchymal stem cells labeled with chitosan-coated superparamagnetic iron oxide (Chitosan-SPIO). Chitosan-SPIO was synthesized from a mixture of FeCl(2) and FeCl(3). The human bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSC) were labeled with 50 microg Fe/mL chitosan-SPIO and Resovist. The labeling efficiency was assessed by iron content, ...

Oxidative damage to biological macromolecules in human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells labeled with various types of iron oxide nanoparticles.

The biological effects of several superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) varying in their surface coating were tested using human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells from two donors - hBMSCs-1 and hBMSCs-2. The measurements were performed at two intervals - after 72 h exposure to the nanoparticles and after an additional 72 h cell growth without nanoparticles. The dose of SPIONs ...

Iron oxide-loaded liposomes for MR imaging.

In this study a liposome cell labeling system was developed for non-target-specific labeling of glioma cells with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). A high non-target-specific uptake is ideal for in vitro labeling of cells and subsequently for cell tracking and visualization of phagocytic cells in vivo. The preparation of iron oxide-loaded liposomes...

The use of dopamine-hyaluronate associate-coated maghemite nanoparticles to label cells

Sodium hyaluronate (HA) was associated with dopamine (DPA) and introduced as a coating for maghemite (γ-Fe(2)O(3)) nanoparticles obtained by the coprecipitation of iron(II) and iron(III) chlorides and oxidation with sodium hypochlorite. The effects of the DPA anchorage of HA on the γ-Fe(2)O(3) surface on the physicochemical properties of the resulting colloids were investigated. Nanoparticles c...
